Position Responsibilities
• Fills in for the Plant Manager during his or her absence.
• Directly manages maintenance activities.  Responsible for maintaining the operability of the facility thru an effective preventive maintenance program.
• Under the direction of the Plant Manager, responsible for effectively supervising all operations staff and contractors. Responsible for helping to maintain a work environment which ensures the facility’s workforce remains non-union.
• Assists with supervising the day-to-day manufacturing and bulk transfer operations of the facility.
• Assists with implementation of all company and government required policies, practices, metrics and programs.
• Maintains a continuous and proactive line of communication with all company departments and staff. Maintains a proactive and timely dialogue as needed with the landlord’s (Port’s) staff, neighbors and all government officials.
• Responsible for demonstrating continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost and the overall work environment for employees.
• May be required to assist with scheduling employees, production and/or product transfer activities.
• Provides leadership and employee training for certain EHS programs.


  • 5 years or more experience running a maintenance department and directly supervising both maintenance and production employees.
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining heat transfer systems, fluid transfer systems, compressed gas systems including nitrogen, vacuum systems, boiler and combustion systems, water treatment systems, and electrical systems including both 480v and PLC controls.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting process equipment and process controls.
  • Trained for and experience with food plant GMP’s.
  • Trained for and experience with all OSHA programs including, but not limited to, LOTO, confined space entry, N2 environments, PSM, et al.  Ability to lead and train others for these programs.
  • Must be aggressive, organized, self-motivated and able to work under pressure. 
  • Must be able to work off hours during breakdowns or other non-routine situations.
  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills.
