Position Responsibilities

  • Managing financial reporting and owning the daily P/L and financial analysis, including a thorough understanding of income/expense drivers and price structures
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with senior commercialstaff to create strong business partnerships
  • Working closely with commercial group on strategy support and projects as needed
  • Coordinating with support staff in Omaha
  • Driving reporting consistencies and improvements across the business
  • Assisting with system implementation and transition
  • Effectively presenting financial analysis to the senior energy team, including CFO, COO, Controller and Senior Director of Crude M&S
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with agents of state licensing agencies
  • Ensuring SOX compliance of business processes by completing critical assessments and monitoring of internal controls for the business
  • Managing:

-Annual budget process

-SG&A spend

-Preparation of daily P/L reports, capture and analysis

-Relationship with third party vendor that handles division order, royalty and tax payments

-Project and SG&A invoice processing

-Storage and transport volume balancing

-Storage and in-transit cost and market valuation   

-Project financial due diligence

-Implementation and process documentation of the back office module of the Energy Trade Risk Management System for the lease crude business

 

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years industry experience
  • Currently in comparable position within finance group of lease crude marketing and supply entity
  • Understanding of lease first purchaser accounting, including handling of royalty and tax payments
  • Revenue and Operational accounting experience, including experience with truck, rail and pipeline transportation and crude storage, blending and gathering
  • A team player
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency.  A self starter
  • Experience with new system implementations is a plus
