Position Responsibilities

  • Directly manages the day-to-day manufacturing and bulk transfer operations of the facility.
  • Directly manages projects as they arise.
  • Directly manage implementation of all company and government required policies, practices, metrics and programs.
  • Maintains a continuous and proactive line of communication with all company departments and staff.  Maintains a proactive and timely dialog as needed with the landlord’s (Port’s) staff, neighbors and all government officials.
  • Responsible for effectively supervising all operations staff and contractors.  Responsible for ensuring the facility’s workforce remains non-union.
  • Responsible for all operating costs, operating metrics and achieving low cost producer status in the industry, as well as demonstrating above average performance among the other like facilities which the owner operates.
  • Responsible for maintaining the operability of the facility thru an effective preventive maintenance program.
  • Responsible for demonstrating continuous process improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost and the overall work environment for employees.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent or work experience.
  • Experience with vegetable oil refining equipment including vacuum, distillation, filtration, boiler, water treatment and heat transfer systems.
  • Trained for and experience with OSHA programs including, but not limited to, LOTO, confined space entry, N2 environments, PSM, et al.
  • Must be aggressive, organized, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Must have excellent communications, computer and public relations skills.
  • Must have understanding of confidentiality and be able to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical manner and lead by example to promote an ethical organization consistent with the owners’ objectives.
  • Must be able to work off hours during breakdowns or other non-routine situations.
