Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation of environmental initiatives across all locations
  • Data analysis including:
  • Statistics from safety database
  • Industry injury frequencies
  • Industry injury Classifications
  • Industry comparisons
  • Document Review including:
  • Safety Manual
  • Incident & Occurrence processes, procedures and reports
  • Organizational structure with focus on safety management system
  • Work procedures & job plans, safety observations programs, reports
  • Agendas/Minutes from safety meetings
  • Field Assessment including:
  • Occur at the sites
  • Observation of work performed and associated work planning
  • Observations of personnel behaviors in the work areas
  • Discussion with labor performing work
  • Observed plant signs and bulletin boards
  • Help conduct audits at all locations to identify potential regulatory exposures.  Help establish action plans to correct exposures.
  • Gain visibility into the investigation and review process for facilities/incidents.
  • Maintain and build upon common and consistent company reporting mechanisms.
  • Help conduct management and supervisory training in current environmental topics for all locations.
  • Review and analyze reports of trends to support environmental program development, improvement and cost reduction.
  • Gain visibility into the implementation of corporate health, safety & security and environmental initiatives.  Assist with the implementation of these policies across all locations.
  • Help conduct loss prevention audits at all locations to identify potential regulatory exposures.  Help establish action plans to correct exposures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level coursework in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Actively pursuing or presently certified as:  Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
